Dr. Sudha
Nahar, MD

Dr. Sudha Nahar is a board-certified gastroenterologist practicing in central New Jersey, where she has built a reputation for compassionate, patient-centered care across general GI and liver diseases. Trained across two continents — from RNT Medical College in Udaipur, India to Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia and her fellowship at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital — Dr. Nahar brings a richly global perspective to both her clinical work and her leadership.

In November 2018, Dr. Nahar founded the Jersey Women Physician Alliance with a straightforward mission: create a statewide network where women physicians, trainees, and students could connect, grow, and lead. What began as a small gathering of New Jersey physicians has since grown into a 600+ member community spanning every medical specialty across all 21 counties.

Beyond JWPA, Dr. Nahar serves as a Board Member of the Medical Executive Committee at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital — a role she has held since January 2017 — and is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association. From 2003 to 2019 she ran Gyan Gastroenterology LLC as a solo practice. In December 2021 she joined Allied Digestive Health as a Partner and PEC Member, and maintains hospital affiliations at both Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Saint Peters University Hospital in New Brunswick.

In April 2019, she was recognized as Clinician of the Month at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital — an honor that reflects the same dedication she brings to every patient, every mentee, and every woman physician she champions through JWPA.
